Melody Scalley is a consultant working with clients in Public Relations and Communications and is available for hire.  She is also the host of “Politics On The Edge” a conservative political talk-radio show airing every Thursday night from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. ET on 103.3 WESR FM.

Scalley created  her talk-radio show at the end of 2008 in response to both local and national events. The format includes commentary and interviews.  Her guest list has included local, state and national politicians such as VA Governor Bob McDonnell, Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli; former Governor and Senator George Allen, numerous delegates; Representatives from across the nation such as Cantor, Bachmann, Forbes, Gohmert, Wittman and Representative Scott Rigell.

Other guests include esteemed professors such as Dr. Yaron Brook, Prof. Richard Epstein, Tibor Machan, Ph.D., and Ilya Somin;  renowned authors; leaders in the fight against the fallacy of man-made global warming; Pastors and leaders in Christ standing up for religious liberties and others working to educate Americans on the threat of radical Islam; and Fellows from Heritage, CATO, and other conservative think-tanks; also nationally known public figures such as Ann Coulter, Dick Morris & Dinesh D’Souza.

In her most recent position Melody Scalley worked as a representative for Congressman Scott Rigell on his Coalition team and coordinator of Eastern Shore outreach.  Scalley’s background includes founding and operating several companies including the first title & settlement company established in Northampton County, VA; as well as a real estate company; and a casual fine dining restaurant with a bed and breakfast.  Hailing from New Orleans, LA originally; her experience prior to those endeavors included hotel front office management and hotel sales and catering management experience in Houston, TX; Vail, CO and Washington, DC.

In 2009 Ms. Scalley was the first woman to run for the Virginia 100th Legislative District House of Delegates.  Her opponent was a previously unchallenged, and well financed,  incumbent.  While she did not prevail in the election; she was successful in waging a serious campaign which resulted in her opponent spending over one hundred thousand dollars to defend his seat.

Previously, Scalley served as a Certified Planner on the Northampton County Joint Local Planning Commission; as a Director on the Board for the Eastern Shore Association of Realtors; and as Vice-Chair of the Northampton County Affordable Housing Committee.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Horse Council and also holds the Virginia Association of Broadcasters seat on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Coalition for Open Government.

Scalley enjoys horseback riding and is an avid trail rider.  She also enjoys conservative politics, saltwater fishing and recreational shooting.
